Characteristics of

The Greek word (diakonos) translated "deacon" means servant, and is so translated in

  • Matthew 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
  • John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Also translated "minister,"
